Hut 8, a colocation and crypto data center company, has acquired 592 acres in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, to build a $2.5 billion data center focused on Bitcoin mining and AI computing. Phase one will include the construction of two 450,000 square foot buildings. The first phase of the project will employ 1,500 to 2,000 construction workers and will bring several hundred more jobs to West Feliciana Parish.
