MARA (formerly Marathon Digital Holdings) has successfully expanded its gas flare powered data center capacity in North Dakota, effectively doubling its regional initiative in partnership with NGON. This latest milestone builds upon the project’s initial 2024 phase, which went live in early 2025.

Completed in just four months and fully operational as of December, the newest expansion utilizes modular units to capture and convert natural gas that would otherwise be flared into energy for Bitcoin mining.
