The first phase of the Tencent Cloud Computing Data Center in Chongqing was launched in 2018 with the capacity to accommodate up to 100,000 servers. Construction for a second phase began by the end of 2018 and doubled the computing capacity to 200,000 servers. The total investment was over 6 billion RMB (US$878M).

Tencent's data center in Chongqing is the city's first large-scale low-carbon data center park powered entirely by renewable energy. In 2020, it was certified as a National Green Data Center by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT).
