In data centers, Tata Communications formed a strategic partnership with ST Telemedia Global Data Centres in 2016 by selling 74 percent of its India and Singapore data center business and retained a 26 percent stake, and it continues to hold a 26 percent minority interest in STT GDC India.
Following this transaction, the company focuses on enterprise connectivity and managed cloud services while maintaining minority exposure to data center colocation in India through STT GDC India.
History:
The Tata Communications Highbridge facility is a strategic Tier III data center and major Cable Landing Station (CLS) located in Somerset, UK.
Tata Communications runs a 6,000 square foot data center in Kolkata, India. This facility in eastern India is directly linked to its Tier I network backbone which spans both India and the globe.
The Portland Brewery Blocks data center was purposely built by it’s previous owner, Tycom to serve as an endpoint for it’s high-capacity, undersea fiber cable linking the US with Asia.
